Dolce & Gabbana launches make-up line
Scarlett Johansson pouts for D&G's first make-up line
Dolce & Gabbana has called on one of its most famous, and glamorous, fans to front its very first make-up campaign: Scarlett Johansson.
The design duo accompanied the actress to last year’s Costume Institute Gala, where she was clad in an ethereal Dolce frock. She has since stepped out on numerous occasions in their slinky dresses.
Speaking of their latest muse, Stefano Gabbana told WWD, ‘Scarlett is sure of herself. She’s abeautiful girl, but she’s really easygoing. She is very Dolce & Gabbana.’
As for the campaign, and a seductive Scarlett has been shot as a modern-dayMarilyn Monroeby photograoher Sølve Sundsbø.
He described, ‘There’s only one photo (of the three) in the campaign that is truly Marilyn, with her gestures and her
attitude. For me, a woman’scoquettishnessis very important.’
This will be the first time that Dolce & Gabbana has stepped into the beauty world, albeit for a hugely successful line ofperfumes.
‘We see make-up as another thing for women, like a dress. We worked on the make-up line like we work on a clothing collection — you can change make-up like you can change your clothes, depending on your mood,’ Gabbana told WWD.
