Left hand rule
The miraculous physical phenomenon, later named after its discoverer, was discovered by the famous French physicist A. M. Ampere. In 1820, Andre Marie experimentally proved the presence of a certain kinetic force, which affected the conductor with an electric current in a magnetic induction field. Today we know this discovery as the “left-hand rule”.
The direction of the impact of the Ampere force according to the rule of the left hand is determined as follows: if the left hand is positioned so that the magnetic induction force vectors are directed into the palm and the fingers of the palm are extended in the direction of current, then the thumb retracted at 90 degrees indicates the direction of the Ampere force.

It is important to remember: the Ampere force does not act on a conductor with a current, if it is located parallel to the lines of the magnetic field.
Determination of the Ampere modular unit of force
Amp is the strength of a given electric current passing through two parallel conductors,which are located at a distance of 1 meter from each other, causing in each section with a length of 1 meter a force of action of 2x10 minus seventh degree of Newton.
The Ampere force modulo can be found as follows: F = B.I.?.sin? where? - the angle between the lines of direction of current and magnetic induction.
The Nobel Prize winner Hendrik Anton Lorenz in 1892 developed his theory of force (later the Lorentz force) acting on charged particles in a magnetic induction field. The rule of the left hand of Lorentz allows determining the direction of this force: if the left hand is positioned so that the force vectors of the magnetic induction field are directed into the palm, and the fingers of the palm are extended in the direction of movement of a particle with a positive charge, then the left thumb will point in Lorentz forces.

The formula for calculating the Lorentz force is: Fм = qVBsin?, Where? - the angle between the vectors of the direction of motion of the charged particle and magnetic induction.
This discovery is a theoretical justification for the principle of operation of electric motors and electric generators.
