Why Net-a-Porter and Levi's New Project Is Totally Worth the Wait
We’ll cut to the chase. Levi’s and Net-a-Porter announced the launch of a new capsule 501 CT collection which will be available exclusively on Net-a-Porter on March 4. So what’s the big to-do? Let us explain.
After noticing a tailoring trend among their customers, Levi’s head of design Jonathan Cheung knew it was time to update the classic 501 silhouette. “Karyn Hillman (Levi’s chief product officer) and I had a conversation about how we taper our own 501s, then we learned that tapering is the second most popular customer request (after hemming),” he told Style.com. Hence the Levi’s 501 CT line, which stands for, customised and tapered.
With a slightly straighter cut waist, smaller seat, and an overall tapered fit, the 501 CTs are your “chance to own a piece of denim history,” according to Net-a-Porter’s denim buyer Octavia Bradford, who already called the jeans as modernised classics. All of this means that finding the perfect hip hugging, vintage-inspired jeans just got a whole lot easier.
